Security Studies Program Questions

Who do I contact if I need to request a deferral?
Students should contact the Dean of the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences with a written request for consideration. Admission may be deferred to the next semester or to the next academic year. If granted, a deferral cannot be extended to a subsequent semester. Admitted students are allowed to request a maximum of one deferral.

Am I assigned an academic advisor?
Yes. You will be assigned an advisor after formally declaring your concentration at orientation.

How and when do I register for classes?
New students register for courses the first Monday following orientation.

Billing Questions

I work for the federal government and my office will pay my tuition. Can I register early to facilitate billing and payment?
No. Arrangements can be made for delayed payment with the Office of Student Accounts.

How do I use my Montgomery GI Bill?

Career Services Questions

May I use the Edmund A. Walsh School of Foreign Service (SFS) Career Center before I matriculate into the SSP?
Yes. Newly admitted students are permitted to utilize the Career Center after the $200 tuition deposit has been paid.
