Prospective Students
Welcome to the Security Studies Program (SSP) Admissions website!
These pages are your guide to the leading graduate-level program in the field of security. We hope you will use this site to learn about our outstanding faculty, the breadth and depth of our curriculum and course offerings, career opportunities, current SSP students, and why the SSP is the best program for you. These pages contain the information you need on the admissions process including application deadlines and instructions, required materials, and contact information.
Our mission is to equip students with the substantive knowledge and analytical skills necessary to confront the complex challenges facing the security community today. We have many partners here at Georgetown that assist us in this process. As part of the Edmund A. Walsh School of Foreign Service (SFS), SSP students benefit from exceptional opportunities for intellectual and professional growth offered on campus. The Center for Peace and Security Studies (CPASS), the administrative home of the SSP, supplements student learning through forward thinking scholarship, provocative speakers, and compelling events covering security challenges and policy prescriptions.
Finally, our location in Washington, D.C. provides SSP students with direct exposure to leading government agencies, private sector firms, and non-profit and research institutions involved in U.S. national and international security.
We encourage you to explore our site and thank you for your interest in the SSP at Georgetown University.
